Crafts for Learning educator Kathy Ceceri is an award-winning author, crafts designer, and teaching artist with a focus on science, technology, history, and art. She travels throughout the Northeast and around the country presenting hands-on workshops for students, teachers, and families. In addition to programs at schools, museums, and libraries, she teaches Maker skills for teens through the Albany Medical College STEP program and recently helped the Girl Scouts of the USA create a new series of robotics badges.


Kathy has written for print publications including MAKE, Wired, FamilyFun, Home Education Magazine, Sesame Street Parents and Child. Online, she served as About.com's Homeschooling Expert and was a founding editor of the popular GeekMom blog and a top writer for Wired.com's GeekDad blog. With her family, she also created "at-home" science blogs detailing their homeschool activities that were featured in The New York Times and the American Chemical Society's Chemical & Engineering News.

Kathy studied illustration at Parsons School of Design and received her Bachelors in English Literature at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. The mother of a virtual reality software engineer and a filmmaker, she lives in Upstate New York.
